The inspiration for this book came from a group of Chinese students studying at LCC. And their experience in a foreign country. Because they always stay at home, they began to feel lonely and stressed out. They didn’t know how to release their negative emotions, because of this they may have unhappy memories (grey memories) in their mind, therefore I drew the illustration of a lonely girl’s daily life, and the story was about the girl’s alternative.
At the beginning, she feels lonesome when she lives alone, and she wants to change it, she wants to become happier, finally, when she decides to make more friends and be more open-minded, she becomes happier.
The purpose of design in this book is to encourage LCC Students to take part in more activities so that they can make more friends and into the school life easier.
These three books are about our emotions; Happiness, Anger and Sorrow. They are each represented by five Chinese idioms, with the English translations. The books explore the humorous nature of traditional idioms when translated literally.
A book named How to be British, where were discovered in the bookshop around the Notting Hill area. It is a perennially popular collection of colour cartoon illustrations, with accompanying texts, on the endearing oddities of British life and character. This book reminds me of some jokes that I made when I just arrived in the UK because of my poor English. I was be inspirited by this book. It made me just wanted to make some books which are about my experience when I study in London. I would like my final major project relates to my London special experience and also could be a memory book for myself that I finished my oversea study life. I hope it can remind me such experience in the future. Therefore I decided to make a picture of the final piece. I selected 3 real stories for my books. There are 'Cash Back'; 'Vinegar'; and the 'You alright' respectively. I hope that readers can be inspired by my stories and avoid jokes that happened on me because of the poor English.
